Situated on the side of the north plateau of Sainte Maure de Touraine, this village, during the XIII th century, was called Saint Bénigne, the name of the Breton bishop who came on a pilgrimage to Saint Martin de Tours and who is buried here. The parish was for a long time recalled for the pilgrimage at the chapel of Beauchêne, neogothic style, which protected the children and the harvesting.
